DDPY Instructor

The Level 1, Level 2 and Rebuild Certifications certify you for in-person group classes only.

Only 1-2-1 sessions can be done online or in-person.

The Level 1 Certification is a 1-year course which begins at the time of purchase. Please spend the first 3 to 6 months of your training studying the Level 1 Workout and the reading materials. Practice teaching the Level 1 Workout to two or more people at a time (a class) for a minimum of 20 hours.

Assessments are via video recording. Please upload your submissions to Youtube as an Unlisted video and send the link to Haydn (haydn@ddpyoga.com) for review. Submissions are unlimited through the duration of the course but please only send one video at a time and wait for a response before submitting another.

*Extensions will be approved for medical reasons.

Once you have purchased the course you will be invited to a “Welcome Meeting” with Haydn. These normally take place once per month on a Wednesday at 11am Eastern. If you can’t attend please do not worry, a link to the recording will be emailed out to you after the meeting.

The Path To Being An Instructor

Requirements

  • 100 hours of self DDPY practice using the DDPY Now App or DVDs and the Level 1 workout.
  • 30 hours of self study. Positively Unstoppable: The Art of Owning It by Diamond Dallas Page, the Level 1 Guidebook, and the DDPY Program Guide (found in the app).
  • 20 hours of practice teaching of the Level 1 workout.

All DDPY Instructors begin at Level 1.

The Path

  • Learn the Level 1 Workout (available once you have purchased the Level 1 Certification) and practise DDPY at least 5 times per week for one hour per day.
  • Read and study Positively Unstoppable: The Art of Owning It by Diamond Dallas Page, the Level 1 Guidebook, and the DDPY Program Guide (found in the app).
  • As soon as you feel comfortable with the Level 1 workout, begin teaching it to at least two people at a time.
  • When ready, record your class. Upload it to YouTube as an Unlisted video and send the link to Haydn (haydn@ddpyoga.com). Wait for your review before moving on.
  • If your video is not successful, do not worry. Review Haydn’s feedback carefully, implement the notes in your next few classes, then re-record and resubmit.
  • Once your Level 1 workout submission has been approved, you can move on to the Diamond Dozen.
  • Create a DDPY workout based on the 13 Diamond Dozen positions. This should be 30–40 minutes in duration and suitable for new participants. The workout must flow like a regular DDPY session.
  • Record and submit your workout to Haydn in the same way as your Level 1 workout.
  • Once successful, you will be asked to submit your Workout Journal, a sample 3-day food journal, and the Diamond Dozen Anatomy and Cues.
  • After these are submitted and graded, you will be sent the final test.

You will then receive a digital certificate as proof of your certification.

The Path for Level 2 Instructors

The Level 2 Certification runs for one year from the date of purchase. Extensions may be granted if you are actively working toward the certification goals.

Requirements

  • 100 hours of certified DDPY teaching at a minimum of Level 1.
  • Have an active DDPY Now App subscription.

The Path

  • Learn each of the new Level 2 positions. Be competent with the correct cues and modifications for each.
  • Watch and study the Level 2 Workout, where you are shown how to implement these new positions into a workout.
  • Study ‘The List’ and the Level 2 Guidebook.
  • For submissions: Choose a Level 2 sequence to record in your class. Film that sequence from the point you begin the new sequence through to its completion (both sides if appropriate). Upload the video to YouTube as an Unlisted video and send the link to Haydn. Submissions should be no more than 15 minutes in duration.
  • Please submit one video at a time and wait for a response before submitting another.
  • Once all Level 2 positions and sequences have been successfully graded, you may submit the Level 2 Diamond Dozen Anatomy and Cues.
  • After these are graded, you will be sent the final test.

You will then receive a digital certificate as proof of your certification.

The Path for Rebuild Instructors

Requirements

  • Must be at least DDPY Level 1 Certified.
  • Be familiar with workout programs on the app.

The Rebuild Certification is valid for one year from the date of purchase. If you are actively completing the program, a short extension can be provided to support your progress.

  • Study the Chair Force and Stand Strong Diamond Dozen, along with the associated workout videos in the DDPY Now app. This includes workouts such as Standing Strong, Chair Warrior, and selected Warriors Purpose sessions.
  • Begin teaching a Chair Force class to one or more participants.
  • Once you feel comfortable with your workout, record and submit a Chair Force workout to Haydn as an Unlisted YouTube video. As always, please wait for a response before submitting another video.
  • Once your Chair Force workout has been successfully graded, begin working towards your Stand Strong workout.
  • Submit your Stand Strong workout to Haydn.
  • Once this has been successfully graded, please submit your Chair Force and Stand Strong Diamond Dozen Anatomy and Cues.
  • After these are graded, you will be sent the final test.

You will then receive a digital certificate as proof of your certification.

The Path for FastTrack Coaches

The FastTrack Coaching Certification is valid for one year from the date of purchase. If you are actively working toward the certification goals, a realistic extension may be granted.

To pass this course, you must complete one valid transformation case study. The following will contribute toward grading:

  • Before-and-after photos (The 6 Pictures)
  • “Why” videos
  • Monthly recap videos
  • Monthly measurement updates

Your case study transformation may fall into any of the following categories:

Weight Loss Transformation
Example: A client who begins coaching at 300 lbs and loses 30–40 lbs over the 13 weeks.

Flexibility Transformation
Example: A client who cannot touch their toes in a forward fold or sit deeply in Catcher at the start but can achieve one or both by the end of the 13 weeks.

Rebuild Transformation
Example: A client who requires chair support for balance or begins on the Chair Force program but progresses to standing unsupported or moves from seated to standing workouts within 13 weeks.

Mindset Transformation
Demonstrated through monthly client videos recorded from the start of coaching. A clear, measurable improvement in mindset qualifies as a valid transformation.

Course Breakdown

  • Read and study the FastTrack Coaching Guidebook in full.
  • Familiarise yourself with the functions of the DDPY Now app, paying particular attention to the different workout programs and who they are designed for.
  • Find suitable candidates for your case study. It is recommended that you work with no more than five clients at a time. Candidates must come from your own network — please do not post in the DDPY Facebook groups seeking participants.
  • Work with your candidates for 13 weeks (3 months), coaching them toward their transformation as outlined in the FastTrack Guidebook.
  • Do not be afraid to release candidates who are not putting in the required effort. Remember, this is your course and your time.
  • Once you have a potential transformation, submit your documentation to Haydn (haydn@ddpyoga.com). Please include as much supporting evidence for each candidate as possible — the more information submitted, the more accurate the grading.
  • If your submission is not successful, you may restart the process with a new case study.
  • If successful, you will be sent the final test.

You will then receive a digital certificate as proof of your certification.
Once the test is complete and all required information has been submitted, you will be added to the FastTrack Coaching page alongside our certified FastTrack Coaches.
